SaskCulture is seeking an experienced Communications Manager to lead our internal and external communication and advocacy strategies. As part of SaskCulture’s Management Team, the responsibilities of this full-time position include:

  • Develop and manage communication strategies, plans, and messages for various initiatives, memberships, stakeholder involvement, funding programs, and key events;
  • Implement and evaluate a broad range of communication tools, including websites, social media, magazines, electronic newsletters,, fact sheets, brochures, and annual reports;
  • Coordinate media relations including media releases, public service announcements, media event planning, and media monitoring;
  • Work with internal and external partnerships to support shared communications aligned with SaskCulture’s goals and objectives;
  • Design and implement evaluation activities to confirm the effectiveness of communication strategies;
  • Develop and review policies and procedures for communications delivered by SaskCulture and Creative Kids Saskatchewan; and
  • Manage budgets to support communication work and ensure SaskCulture is responsive to the changing needs of Saskatchewan’s cultural community.


The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, evaluate programs, write/edit, research, budget, and work comfortably in a digital environment. Experience in strategic communication planning, print and digital marketing, and partnership development is required.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be acquired through post-secondary education in communications, journalism, or a related field, with at least five years’ experience working in a communications role. Knowledge of non-profit or community organizations in Saskatchewan is a definite asset.

SaskCulture’s office is located in Regina and the preferred candidate will be based in Regina. A hybrid flex/in-office work model will be considered with a schedule for in-office days and remote work within SaskCulture’s core hours. The specifics will be tailored to meet the needs of the employee, the Communications team and SaskCulture’s operations. This position offers a competitive, annual salary starting at $97,245, plus benefits.
