Are you looking for that perfect entry-level communications position? We are looking for a full-time Communications Assistant, who can help us promote the importance of cultural activities and experiences in Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, with interest and ideally some experience, in entry-level communications, such as experience working on newsletters, websites and social media.
Responsibilities
Reporting to SaskCulture’s Communications Manager, responsibilities of this position include:
- Writing, formatting, and distributing various online communication initiatives, such as the bi-weekly E-Update;
- Monitoring, publishing, and reporting on various social media channels;
- Updating and supporting SaskCulture’s website;
- Providing support to various SaskCulture events and initiatives, such as Culture Days and Creative Kids;
- Maintaining and coordinating the external and internal requests for promotional items;
- Assisting in general correspondence and file maintenance; and
- General administration of other office and communication duties as needed.
Qualifications
Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be acquired through:
- post-secondary education in the areas of communication and/or business administration, or a combination of relevant training and experience.
- The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the English language, both written and verbal, along with knowledge of file management, computer use, and basic graphic design using tools such as Canva.
- As part of the Communications team, applicants must be able to listen to and convey information and opinions of a diverse team, maintain confidentiality, understand and maintain organizational reputation, and demonstrate superior communication and client service skills.
- Experience working in a non-profit organization, with knowledge of the Saskatchewan arts and culture community, is considered an asset.
Location
SaskCulture’s office is located in Regina and the preferred candidate shall be a resident of Regina. A hybrid flex/in-office work model will be considered with a schedule for in-office days and remote work within SaskCulture’s core hours. The specifics will be tailored to meet the needs of the employee, communications team, and SaskCulture.
