Do you know an artist, organization, leader or educator who deserves recognition? Nominate them for a Saskatchewan Arts Award!

Presented by SK Arts, the Saskatchewan Arts Awards celebrates the achievements of individuals, groups and organizations in all arts disciplines.

Award recipients receive a cash prize and a limited edition award by a Saskatchewan artist.

The 2022 Saskatchewan Arts Awards will be held on October 24, 2022 at the Remai Arts Centre in Saskatoon.

Who can be nominated?

General eligibility criteria and specific criteria that apply to each award are listed in the Nomination Guidelines. Please note that no individual, group, collective or organization can be selected for more than one award within any given year and nominees may receive each award once only. A list of previous award recipients is available here.

Who can nominate?

Eligibility criteria are listed in the Nomination Guidelines. Please note that self-nominations and posthumous nominations are not accepted for any award. Nominations for an individual, group or collective from their family members or representatives (i.e. agents, managers, etc.), and nominations for an organization from its principals, board members or employees are not eligible.

How are the awards reviewed?

Before nominations are reviewed, SK Arts staff confirm eligibility and technical requirements have been satisfied. An independent panel with appropriate knowledge and experience review the eligible nomination submissions for each award through a competitive process based on the criteria specific to each award category. The panel establishes a short-list of nominees for each award and selects the recipient. The criteria for each award are available in the Nomination Guidelines.

How is the personal information of the nominator and nominee handled?

The personal and confidential information that is provided in the submission is collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. This information is required to process the nomination. Personal and confidential information will only be disclosed as necessary to employees of SK Arts and the peer assessors. If shortlisted for an award, the name of the nominee and their community of residence will be made known publicly. If selected for an award, the name of the recipient, their community of residence and the award prize will be made known publicly. SK Arts will respond appropriately to any inquiries regarding the privacy policies and procedures, including requests to access personal information.
